Re: Question dealing with college education before bootcamp.

If you are in your final semester, then finish school and get your degree. As others have told you, the degree won’t make a huge difference in your starting rank, but it gives you options further down the road. Also, if you quit school now, regardless of how many credits you have, if you go to a different college you will need to do your last 30 semester hours with the new school – that is a Department of Education requirement., and it could be years before you could get your last classes completed at USF.

Also, not to piss in your cornflakes, I know that your situation is stressful, but I think that you will find your time in the Corps will be a great deal tougher… maybe not financially, but to put it all in perspective you are reasonably assured of your next meal, of knowing that you’ll be able to go to sleep tonight in a bed, taking a shower tomorrow, having a toilet to sit down on, and sleeping with a roof over your head. All of these are things that Marines learn not to take for granted.
