It is much more than mear generalizations. Try doing a bit of web searching on the topic. You'll find a rich, deep, comprehensive history of europer hatred for, disgust with and deriding of Americans. Since the advent of postmodernism, it's been the mainstay of europer philosophical "thought".

Btw the "modernism" that postmodernism was created to oppose WAS the US.

It actually is that silly, and that simple.
