Re: Considering ROTC

Well, its all about what you want. simple as that. You can still be a leader and not be an officer and you will still have alot of responsibility as an enlisted soldier. As far getting stuck behind a desk as an officer. A large part will depend on your branch. you cant really guarantee which branch you get. its based on performance/needs of the Army, etc.. all you can really do is ask for a specific branch on your "wish list."

i know i'm enjoying AROTC and can't wait till I get my gold bar. but its different for everyone. when i pictured myself in the Army in high school it was as an officer. where do you picture yourself in the Army? throw pay/benefits/all the ass you'll get, etc. out the window and follow your heart. i know its cheesy, but do it.

It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who gives us freedom to protest. It is the soldier who serves beneath the flag, who salutes the flag and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who gives the demonstrator the right to burn the flag."
