Re: I need someone who knows..
so....just so I understand, you (he) just called him up and said "I want out?" Your boyfriend (you) need to figure out what you want to do....if you really want to be a Marine, stick it out, renegotiate the DEP contract. The recruiter will take this alot better than the aforementioned "I want out" speech...but is seems its too late for that.
If you really don't want to be a Marine, you have to keep pushing to get out of the contract, I'm not sure what the specific protocol is, and don't expect a lot of help from your recruiter.....not that you can blame him/her. Be advised, you may have to 1. get your parents involved, not that I recommend it, you decided to enlist, this is your correction to make and 2. go above the recruiter to his chain of command to get the desired effect.
Again, I think if in the long term you desire to become a Marine, then stick it out, renegotiate the DEP contract, go to Boot after you graduate and serve proudly.
