I probably said this before, but both my kids said the first week was bad, but after that, it wasn't as bad as they had thought it would be.
That said, good preparation will make it "easier".
I wonder if you will have friends etc. asking for your email address on the Island. Sarah did, and my relatives thought it was inhumane not to be allowed one. A friend had a nephew going to AF boot at the same time and she was aghast that Sarah wouuld not be able to call home any time.
The other thing they both mentioned was a fair number of recruits making it through that they were embarrassed by ... so be prepared to see some guys graduating who you may think didn't deserve it. Just don't be one of'em!
One other thing they both said - their DIs were amazing people.
P.S. One gal in Sarah's plt couldn't march ever. She was told she was "sick" on Final Drill Day. She was at the back of the plt in graduation and was marching completely out of step "right left right your other right no the other one ...". I'm sure she drove the DIs crazy.
