Okay, just for you all. I have been here over a week, settled in, and am beginning to adjust. Gun fire doesn't wake me, mortars don't either. I get about 6 hours of good sleep, followed by work, work, food, and work. Exciting things around the area have included random rounds hitting camp, from bullets in fights miles away, to mortars near by. This place is a but rustic, but to complain would be wrong. I have seem worse, so lets press on. Things are great, but the need to prayers is always there. We have lost people since I arrived, so the pain is visible. As military, we carry on through the pain, focusing on the mission, slowly, but surely. There are a bunch of us looking back on what is going on in our country, wondering, does anyone really understand, want to understand, or care to understand. In the few days I have been here, I have learned more than I ever thought. Believe me, you are only getting what they want you to hear, the media cant find their ass from a hole in the ground with a map, flashlight, compass, and GPS together. We are winning this, believe me. Keep God close to your hearts, remember us in prayer, and know we think of you, our family and friends often.
