In a military museum in the french speaking part of Switzerland there is a helmet on show that has two holes on the sides.

It happened during a live fire exercise where a rifle bullet went off at the wrong moment and hit the side of the guy standing next to the holder of the rifle.

The bullet penetrated the helmet, struck the strap holder and went round the inside of the helmet, striking the strap holder on the other side and therefore exiting.

The only wound the helmet holder suffered was a cut by the strap.
