Once about 30 odd years ago, I was part of a BLT.

Well, as I was an fng, I was put on mess duty at the CPO's mess.

Now as a rule senior ncos, like senior officers, have seen it all, and are not hard to get along with as long as you do your job...but..

I was told to make coffee and so off I went.

Well, the pot looked like it had not been cleaned since WWll so I got some soap and steel wool and polished it inside and out....this I shortly found out was NOT done.

Some of those old Chiefs and Gunnies had an amazing command of the English tongue. : )
