Marines do attend the Naval War College at Newport -- so if he was there for training, then he better be claiming to be a lieutenant colonel or colonel.

There is a possibility that he attended training there as a reservist -- I have absolutely no idea if any reserve units ever go to Newport... but I'd doubt it. Not really a training hotspot.



Now, as far as BASIC TRAINING -- no chance in hell.
