Former Delta Force members move security firm to Fairfax

Triple Canopy, one of several companies providing security services to U.S. officials in Iraq, is moving its headquarters from a Chicago suburb to Herndon later this month.

The company, formed three years ago by former members of the U.S. Army's elite Delta Force, has leased 27,000 square feet on Corporate Park Drive in Herndon. It will relocate about 100 employees here to be closer to Uncle Sam, its biggest customer.

Triple Canopy's customers include the Departments of State, Defense Homeland Security and Energy. It also provides executive protection services.

Triple Canopy's Website says its services "range from discreet travel companions to heavily armored, high profile convoy escort."

Triple Canopy has been working for the State Department for more than a year in Iraq, where it has provided security detachments for the Coalitional Provisional Authority and State Department employees. It is also helping train Iraqi nationals.
