Recon Marines are a bit different than Ranger.

Recon Marines are what the name implies, Recon/scouts/observers.

Rangers are more assualt commandos.

Recon Marines work in very small teams and are usually tasked with forward of the FEBA "sneek and peek" type missions.

Force Recon Marines are..well...Force Recon lol..they are kinda a thing unto themselves (by which I mean to say I am totally clueless on what they do..but I do understand that they do it very very well, what ever that is)
