I wonder why they dont do things like the following?

1. pay more money across the aboard
2. provide better benefits (medical, retirement, college, etc etc)
3. provide better/proper equipment
3. increase pay in combat/hazardous duty zone
4. increase pay for separate rats?
5. insert good idea here

I think most average joe shmo civilians see/hear all the problems the govt is having and do not feel military service is a good decision. I think if this decision is implemented many current enlisted and officers will exit service when possble. I also think this will further decrease the amount of people willing to serve/enlist. I am a citizen soldier and will stay in, "no matter what", but, I feel the govt is letting us down by decreasing our medical, pension, etc, benefits....

What will the govt do when they cant get enough people to enlist or re-enlist to accomodate the mission?
