I know that AIT is now 12 weeks, but BCT has yet to change, although it has been discussed a lot recently. As far as DS going easy on you, not in the MP world. They will be tougher no matter what company you are in, because you are an MP and they know the demands of the job, which are very high. They might ease up and joke with you towards the end of training, but they will always expect more of you.
BTW, there is no longet KP at Fort Leonard Wood. They got rid of that right before I went to training, like 2 cycles behind me and I graduated BCT in 03. They did it so that it wouldn't interfere with training. But do not worry there are other details to get stuck on.
