The Ohio Army National Guard also has the SMP. You get paid as an E-5 however during your drills and what not. When you complete ROTC you either get your commission or if you did not contract, you can be promoted to SGT. That is COMPLETING the program though, not failing out. If you leave the program you go back to your prior pay grade. My buddy went from SPC to Cadet.. hated it and quit. So he came back to our unit as a SPC again.
