Hello Ladies and Gents,

First I want to say these forums look like their filled with an abundance of information, and a great community, I'm sure I WILL enjoy my stay.

The reason I'm here, I want to join the military, as a Combat Photographer. Yes, I could go to my local recruiters, and ask every one of those guys my questions, which I will be doing, but first I want to ask this community and get their opinions/knowledge about the subject.

Some Info about me: I'm a Jr(11th grade) in High School. I'm 17 years old, birthday May 5th, 1988. I love traveling, photography, adventure, and meeting great people. I've been doing photography for 3 years now, using a SLR Film camera and shooting anything I can and think is interesting. Right now I'm looking at my options for the future, at some point in time(whether it be right after high school or after the military) I want to go to college.(might have to go with the second option)

Back to the subject at hand, yes, I want to go into the military as a 'Combat Photographer.' I'm not sure what branch, I'm leaning more towards the Army or Marine Core, but here's the thing.....I want to enlist and be able to guarentee myself that I will in fact join that certain branch as a Combat Photographer. I don't want to do anything else. I live for action, and I live for Photography.

So, my questions that I have for all of you:



1. What branch(if any) would guarentee myself a spot as a Combat Photographer.

2. If there's more then one branch that would, what branch(in your opinion) would be my best choice(and why)?

3. What do you think I should do to better prepare myself for my goal to be a Combat Photographer.

4. 'Anything that would help me'



I apologize for my long and maybe to you, painful, post. But the time has come for me to start researching and getting as much information as I can about my possible future.
