Got mine in 1987 after our unit was redesignated from the 1st Battalion, 9th Infantry (Manchus) to the 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry (Currahees) in Korea. A limited number of us were trained in Hawaii so that we could go back to Korea and teach what we learned to the rest of the unit.
