The graduation rate is at times as low as 10%. If someone quits or fails to meet the standards for graduation, their records are reviewed by the RIP Cadre. Some students, depending upon a variety of conditions, are offered the chance to recycle into the next class. The RIP Cadre have a very specific set of rules they must follow in dealing with students and their evaluation as potential members of the 75th Ranger Regiment. They simply do not operate that way you described. More than likely, the person you described above is using this story to save face.
