A little glimpse of AIT?
I'm going straight through from basic to AIT at Fort Knox, KY as 19D (Cav Scout), was wondering if anyone could tell me teh basics? What it's like? Or just anyone have any recent experience with AIT. I have heard of some AIT that they were allowed labtops, and have had weekends off? Maybe this is intelligence though? Any information would be helpfull, thanks.

Re: A little glimpse of AIT?
With 19D being a combat MOS, I wouldn't count on anything like that. Definately do not bring a laptop with you. It sounds like you're doing OSUT (one station unit training) and you probably won't see a big difference between basic and AIT. If your Drill sergeants decide your class can have personal stuff, you can send for it later. There is a good chance you will get some weekends off, but don't expect it and you won't be disappointed. Then if you do get it you can be pleasantly surprised.
