11x OSUT

I am in the Army Delayed Entry program. I signed up as an 11x and will be going to Benning for my OSUT...eventually. I want to know everything there is to know about 11x OSUT. I also want to hear some 11x OSUT stories as well.

I would ask my recruiter but I want to hear from someone who has actually been there.

when do you leave for benning? my friend and i are going in august. He got SF in his contract and i got 11x.

that's what one of my teachers told me...he's ex airbone. he was tellin me how the mosquito's are gonna eat me alive.

I was at Benning August-November in '89 for OSUT. It was hotter than the fires of hell in the beginning and in November during our FTX just before graduation it actually snowed.

I honestly don't remember mosquitoes being a concern. The Drill SGTs were my only real concern...

I think the Military Operations in an Urbanized Terrain was my favourite part. If you end up with the 1st/329th I might see you down there... Seems that the unit I just joined is deployed down there right now.

The mosquitos arent the problem but the heat is killer, don't worry though you'll eventually get used to it.

I was in Benning Sept.1973 for AIT then again in March1980 for IOBC . The heat was not an issue then but it did rain alot. Good luck

I was at Benning in the summer of 03. The heat wasnt that bad, but I'm from Texas. It wasnt nothing compared to what were seein here in Iraq now, and it's only just starting to get warm. 115 at 1300 today.
Enjoy Benning yall, it was the best time I ever had so far. Still talk to some of my battles from basic.

there really isn't much to it be prepared to be challenged on a constant basis. i enjoyed my time in osut
