TACP info

I'm going to be enlisting in the Air Force soon and i'm gonna tryout for TACP. I was wondering if anyone could give me any information.

OK here are a few pointers. One get a good guaranteed job, not career grouping. This way if its not offered you're not totally screwed. Second get in shape and do alot of cardio along with swimming. Starting in October, swimming will be added.

In basic there will be an opportunity to try out for PJ, CCT, and TACP. Sometimes they try out on the same day, sometimes it's different. If you pass the PAST test then you will sign a piece of paper stating that you want to have 1C4X1 as your new primary job.

From there you will be off to Herbie. Just remember it's better to give 110% and fail, rather than be a quitter.

Poonter can probably answer some of the recruiting and tech school questions better, it's been 11+ years since I went through.

Ask specific questions and you will get better answers. By all means look around the AF forums and there is some additional info. If it doesn't help, I will. Also there is a site for the TACP's (type in ROMAD in a yahoo search). If you go into the site, READ all the info first in the FAQ section. If you ask a question that is answered in there, some guys will insult you so bad that you will feel like a dirty little kid with snot bubbles coming out of his nose thats walking funny because of the huge wedgie he just received.
