Cadet Uniform Guidelines
As a general service to all AFJROTC cadets who use this forum, I have decided to post a somewhat complete set of uniform guidelines.
These images illustrate the standard uniform for units, minus unique uniform items, whatever they may be. These can all be found in Google, but not without a little work. First off is the service coat. This is possibly the most important guideline for cadets. Male: ![]() Female: ![]() Male Class B's: ![]() Female Calss B's: ![]() Lightweight Jackets: ![]() BDU's: ![]() Male Headgear: (Females follow same brass placment guidelines) ![]() And, last but not least, my own updated full color rank and brass charts, along with a ribbion chart. ![]() ![]() This ribbion chart is the offical ribbion order chart. Highest ranking ribbions are on top. All ribbions that are not on this chart are not to be worn without direct decision of the SASI. This excludes ribbions earned only in another branch of the JROTC. ![]() I will adress any questions on uniform standards not directly stated in the above documents. (Ropes/cords, medals, tie clasps, etc.) |

Re: Cadet Uniform Guidelines
Let me ask you young cadets a question that has bugged me since I was in high school in the late 70's. STOP LAUGHING!
![]() I earned the Sons of the American Revolution in my first year of AFjROTC in Georgia. My family then moved to Germany where I was in an American High School on an American AF Base. I was greeted the first Uniform day by the Cadet Squadron Commander that had also been awarded the same medal. She promptly told me that I had to take it off. I told her, in not very nice words to get stuffed. It was a personal award. I then asked her why SHE was wearing an award that was for male cadets and why a male cadet was wearing the Daughters of the American Revolution. Is there anything that says that the Sons medal is for male cadets and vice versa? |

Re: Cadet Uniform Guidelines
There is no racial or gender base on any award. If you are good enough to earn it, you deserve it.
For example, anyone can get the Tuskegee award, regardless of race. |

Re: Cadet Uniform Guidelines
The award states for the "SONS" award presented to the top AEI MALE cadet.
The "Daughters" award states for the top AEI FEMALE cadet. That is why I asked the question. |
