Methods of Discipline
Whats just curious of different units methods of dicipline. Last year we had a Merit/ Demerit system..This year they go rid of that and started a Counsoling sheet thingy...And basiclly if you get 3 of those for the same infraction we boot you at the end of the quater...

Re: Methods of Discipline
Here basically if one cadet constantly screws up they are warned... after that then the hgher ups will have the whole flight stand at attention and tell them that the reason is because of this/these cadet(s). Then the rest of the flight will be very mad at them for making them stand at attention for forever.

Re: Methods of Discipline
My unit didn't have discipline my last year. i swear... the first year if you got a detention you went to PT after school and chief made you suffer for an hour. My second year you sat at attention for 45 mins or stood at attention for 30. It was up to you. My third year you sat at the desk quietly doing your homework for 45 mins. My last year you sat at the desk for 30 mins with no one watching you. I've caught people talking, playing game boys, passing notes... It was crazy. I put a stop to it when I caught it, but I was just a flight commander and detention's the ASI's job, so I didnt want to get too into his realm of responsibility. Basically, detention was the only form of discipline we had. Our headmaster didn't want us making people do pushups or anything(though section leaders in band could make people do pushups all they wanted...). So basically- dont follow my unit's example.

Re: Methods of Discipline
Makem do push ups, tell them how to correct their mistake and press on. Paper work wastes time to fill out. Push ups will help you do better on your PT test, they are good for your health, no need to kill more trees and waste time filling out paper.

Re: Methods of Discipline
a lot of schools don't let you make people do pushups, though. It's seen as a form of hazing or something.
