You two are lucky, my unit has a machine looking this that looks like a commercial plane consol with the buttons and everything but we gave that away. Then we have a mini flight simulator on the computer but only a few cadets are allowed to use it.

I don't know what rank I'm gonna be yet because we don't start school till monday, but I'll most likely be a C/Capt. We have I think about 210 kids this year.

If you really want to learn to fly I recomend going into Civil Air patrol. I've been in for less than 1/2 a year and I've flown 3 times(actually taken full control from takeoff to just before landing). And if you want to get your private pilots licsense you can get it for about 1/3 the cost.

Re: afjrotc cadets please read
well civil air patrol isn't as structured and as valuable in my opinion. I've been in afjrotc for only 1 year[ my school district is on a block schedule so it was as much hours as a two or three year cadet. I piloted a cessna 172 about 5 times and I'll proboly get my private license next year. I'm also the chief master seargent and first sergeant and in civil air patrol I wouldn't have made it to this rank or got this much flying experience.

Re: afjrotc cadets please read
it's not our fault Roms put it in the wrong forum. it started out on the General JROTC forum and was moved here when new ones were created. don't tell people what to do if you don't know what you're talking about. it makes you look like a jackass. I'm asking today about mod powers so if this happens again I can move it to the right forum. we can't exspect roms to be perfect.

Re: afjrotc cadets please read
my afjrotc unit just got started so we dont have anything fancy like that.............all we have is flags uniforms and books........i mean the school i go to just threw us in a empty classroom.so we dont have any simulators or even the chance to get close to the real thing. |

our first two years we had to move around between a few science classrooms when there were no classes in there. you're lucky to even get your own classroom.

Re: afjrotc cadets please read
We complained when we didn't have the goodlooking part of the building. We have a whole school wing to ourselves. It is actually going to be a school within a school. The public school and the Jrotc academy. We have two simulators, civilian and fighter but were not allowed to shoot for some reason. It would be good if we finally get a drill team and a saber guard. We also need some more cadets.

Re: afjrotc cadets please read
LAst year my classes included inspection (sometimes... Sometimes we never got inspected), a couple weeks in a row of aerospace science, a couple weeks of leadership, then a big event would coem up and our ASI/SASI were always busy and none of the seniors did anyting. I ended up beign in like 3 JROTC classes a day. The main focus was put on the kids who came before school for inspection/class.
Now, our classes are organized, I have rank, and we'ev actually had an instructor in tehclass. I'm not trying to say our ASI or SASI didn't do their job. I learned so much in terms of aerospace science last year. I got a 99 3 terms in a row. We don't hve a workign flight sim let alone flight lessons. |
