Inspection
Hey everyone! My unit is having an inspection done by JROTC HQ in a few months... we haven't had one in the last six years so I'm a little nervous. My instructors have been through plenty of them but its a lot of pressure on me since im the Deputy Group Commander and then our Group Commander. The inspector is going to do a review inspection, and watch one selected flight drill 30 different commands, and then just ask questions to other cadets and then to the nitty gritty stuff with my instructors... anyone ever been through one lately? Our unit has gotten "Outstanding Unit" for our other inspections so hopefully we'll do just as well.

Re: Inspection
well in philadelphia Jrotc has been a huge hotspot[within two years we have 5 new jrotc's and 2 military academies.] Hq of jrotc is always hanging around, in fact on my first floor is the HQ for JROTC for the whole city and the surruonding counties. I had to give a tour my unit facilites and introduce some cadets when I was just a dumb sophmore in the program for the first time and I was only a airman. Now I'm am a junior that is first seargent of my squadron and senior enlisted advisor who is at good standings with alot of Air Force officers and NCO's. You will be fine, just have confidence

Re: Inspection
I did jrotc at Army Navy Academy and those inspections were a doozy. As a squad leader I was supposed to know all my squadies names, rankes, social security numbers and school cadet numbers.
The room inspections were as tough as anything I went through in the Marines. The General Knowlege questions covered the full chain of command, both Army and Navy general history (limited and not deep tho). It all ended with a full dress inspection and a pass and review parade. We did ok. Got the highest level award given in such things...life was VERY hard on those cadets that didnt do well, for alooong time afterwards tho. -Mac |

Re: Inspection
That's brutal. I'm glad all we're having is a "Staff Assissted Visit". All we have to do is give him a 10 minute briefing in the 4th year class and have the 1st years do facing movements and present arms for him. He's leaving at 11 o'clock in the morning. It's almost pathetic.

Re: Inspection
Dude, in all honesty it's really a recruiting visit. He will talk to your calss, and in a roundabout away promote the AF. It is good for training though. You get used to briefing. Giving a briefing is different from giving a speech. Also ask your SASI if you all can have an "informal de-briefing" lunch somewhere afterwards. It goes over good with them. We went to a local restaurant for like 30-45 minutes.
