New Uniform
I came across the new Air Force uniform today. Are combat units like Security Forces going to be required to wear that? Because, those colors are just...not tactically sound.

Re: New Uniform
Yes they're phasing them in right now. The fiscal year has begun so now we have new funds to pay for mass production. I don't know how well the colors will work either :-/ I'm not exactly an expert but eh... I don't know. But it does break up patterns well.
Have you seen the new proposed dress blues? |

Re: New Uniform
I have seen the proposed new uniforms, - that is the "blue" combats. They are the same cloth the kids are wearing here in the UK as fashion clothing. Is somebody having a laugh at the US Forces expense?!

Re: New Uniform
The new dress blues although called heritage uniforms (Hap Arnold Heritage is the name of one of the examples) step away from the AF heritage of a plain blue suit.

Re: New Uniform
Ok, as an NCO, I can say this. The barracks idea is true. We are talking about officers that have never served in combat, if they did, at altitude. Being from a ground perspective, I think these are stupid. But I am not paid to argue, just keep my guys alive. I read recently that airman complained we dont look like the army. No shit, were the AIR FORCE. Millions went into the new design, better idea would be to get an army uniform, change colors, and press on. As for the new Service dress, thank God for the change. I hate looking like I am going to a business meeting. I am military, not a businessman. Either way, lets try this out, knowing changes will be coming....

Re: New Uniform
I agree with you about the new service uniforms. The look with the current blues didn't appeal that much to me. From looking at the prototypes in the news, I really like the idea to go for a more 'heritage' look.
