820th SFG

Got any questions? I was there when the unit first stood up at Moody and I'd like to try and help out if I can, I've been out for awhile but I still know some folks, and I know it's hard to get good info on it.

Neg, I have no desire to jump outta perfectly good airframes. Which jump is it you're reffering to. I went on a couple of jumps at Indian Springs (I drove outta the back of the plane, the puppets jumped beforehand)

Feburary of 99'. Its when the C-17 did the compressor stall and the aircrew "forgot" they couldn't take off. I'm sure the 3 star did not mind since his aircraft was taking off not so long after words. Did McCormik retire?

McCormick Retire? The guys only been in like 10 years! Seriously, I don't know. Idoubt it, last I saw him he wasn't talking about it, but that was over a year ago

I think alot of guys feel that way. Especially the ones who get slots for jump school then find out they have vertigo on the 250ft tower. I originally wanted a jump school slot but changed my mind pretty quickly.

My flight chief and first sargeant are from the 820th, I guess it was easiest to pull them seeing as my unit is "supposed" to be the newer better version of the 820th and 786th, although i do not see that being possible for many years to come since the 615 CRW just hit its one year mark recently. my friend and i joined this forum to find out more about the 820th and 786th because we would like to be part of something with more movement than our current assignment. shold i wait out here and see if we do go active someday or should i get the training they are offering here and apply for either of the above mentioned units when Ive hit my 2 year mark?
