Re: Ah...
Well, yeah, that's a given. Air Force and Army doctrine teaches to push through. Dismounting is for road blocks and the like. *still laughing at the pictures*
And what is that guy covering anyway? He has his weapon up as if aiming at someone. Last I checked, when you're scanning the area for enemies you keep your weapon at ready and keep your head on a swivel, not give yourself tunnel vision by trying to look cool. -Jorge |

Re: Ah...
Not taking his side but how many times do people "Pose" for that picture for the photographer? Everytime we take guys out to the range to take photo's and see some stell go boom they always want us to do this or that and it turns out alot different.
However if I was firing I would aim center mass on the cart. You will accomplish one of three things. 1. Hit the guy fixing it. 2. Hit the idiot that is a foot away covering him 3. Get lucky and get them both ![]() |

Re: Ah...
Hollywood picture or not (I hear ya on that one BTW!) This whole AGE Ranger thing sounds pretty shady. I doubt that this kid even realizes the full extent of what we mean when we say "perimeter." (Hint DINSTAAR- it's ALOT bigger then the area with AGE on it. Nevermind patrolling SAM footprints, conducting route recon etc... All said and done the danger faced by an AGE troop is equal to any body elses on an airfield. Big lights tend to make big targets. But the Ranger thing is a big stretch.

Re: Ah...
Just to reopen an old wound:
I've asked a few AGE troops here at Hickam...none have heard of DINSTAAR. I'm sure the phrase exists, but maybe that shows just elite the group is. ![]() -Jorge |

Re: Ah...
Is it G-13 classified????
![]() I asked the guys here and they all looked at me, and yes the lowest ranking member was not an Airman. It was 2 Masters, and a Senior heading to lunch. |
