Re: Paratroopers Stand in the Door
I went through Airborne school in November '95... 1st platoon, Delta Company "The Rock"... Not a terribly intense school, but I have fond memories.

Re: Paratroopers Stand in the Door
usmc chuter, I'm Delta Rock also. Do you remember a Big Black Guy (Black Hat) that all the instructors called Blue. I had the joy of making my first jump on October 31, 1996. Trick or Treat!

Re: Paratroopers Stand in the Door
Rusty, sorry for the delay.. Nope, don't remember a black hat named "blue." The names of my black hats have long since faded... However, I remember the company commander was Capt Stone and the 1sgt was named Campbell.. I remember him because he made it abundantly clear that he hated Marines... Good times..

Re: Paratroopers Stand in the Door
Class 4-89
Graduation 18 November 1988 D Co. 1/507th PIR "The Rock" The Black Hat I remember the most was SFC Williams. He always talked about this guy named "Poindexter" who always had a book to read and wore glasses. The most funniy thing about that was one morning in the chow line, I looked back at thia little guy with glasses and saw his name tape and it said, and this is no shit, "Poindexter". We all fell out in laughter. He didn't know what we were laughing about and we had to explain it to him. I then went to the 82nd ABN, A BTRY 3/319th AFAR and then HSB 3/319th AFAR. |
