Re: Can Intels go Airborne??
Absolutely.
Pretty much anyone (if not anyone) who is physically qualified can go... I'm not sure if there is even an MOS that can't be airborne. To put it in perspective, if the 82nd needed to jump in somewhere, they are going to need people for the WHOLE DIVISION to be able to jump should there be a spot where the division must go in. E.S. |

Re: Can Intels go Airborne??
Scary pretty much covered it there. Any MOS can get airborne qualified as far as I know, it's just not always easy to get a slot.

Re: Can Intels go Airborne??
As I stated in a similar thread. If the MOS is slotted and there is an opening you can go, if not your are shit out of luck. With the 96, 97, & 98 MOS classifications, if they are slotted in an Airborne unit, you can bet your ass, there are damn few openings and lots of applicants.

Re: Can Intels go Airborne??
That's what I thought. They would have to be Airborne qual'd. If the Army would taken me I wanted to take that route.

Re: Can Intels go Airborne??
Well I was going to initially join the Army as an officer (had a college scholarship). My girlfriend got pregnant, and I dropped the scholarship and joined the Navy. Why, honestly don't really know. They were the first office I ran into, I guess. Once set up for something I don't quit so I stayed. So I chose a job where I could see the best of both worlds, the field and the sea. Since being in I have investigated damn near every route to switching services. Nothing really works for my "overall" plan. I am currently looking into BTG and the Warrant Officer Program.

I looked on goarmy.com & found this: http://www.goarmy.com/btg/index.jsp i'm sure you've looked at it, but if you want i can start talking to my recruiter about whatever your situation is...good guy & is in the Northern VA area so he'd probably be willing to help you out.

Re: Can Intels go Airborne??
Problem is the way the Navy "rates" jobs. For example I can qualify for several Army MOS's but none directly corelate to my Rate (CTM). I would appreciate you talking to him though. Obviously the Navy isn't as helpful as they could possibly be. They don't want to loose people. I can/have done: intel analyst, collection. I have NEC's (Naval enlisted classifications) for communication maintenance/operator and crypto repair. 25F, 25D, 96B, 98Y and 25L, to name a few.
