Two tanks destroyed in Fallujah

6,500 American G.I.'s and 2,000 Iraqis on Attack
"The Associated Press reported that residents said heavy street clashes were raging in the northern sectors of Fallujah amid fierce bursts of gunfire. Witnesses told the Associated Press that at least two American tanks were engulfed in flames. There was no confirmation of casualties."

It will be interesting to find out what knocked out those tanks... Sound like the crews were able to get out.

"witnesses" told the reporter. No other confirmation. We've got embedded reporters again with most units out there. If 2 AFV's were gone, wouldnt we have heard about it from other than unconfirmed rumors by unknown "witnesses"?

My manuever company has some tanks in that area. I'll do some checking. Hope the crews are ok.
