Basic Questions?

Does basic change for the MOS u choose or are they all the same, do you pick your MOS before or after you get done with basic, do you get paid during basic, is there a buddy system you can do so you can go through basic with a friend for support, and what happens if you dont pass the runing,pushups,situps tests if your can answer these questions would be thankful

First go and check into roll call, and read the rules, please.
Basically basic is the same for everyone. Everyone has to learn the same things. You choose your MOS before you go to basic. Yes you get paid while you are there. Yes you can sighn up and go with a buddy, I did. Although if something happens at MEPS or when you get to basic you may be seperated. There are no gaurentees. You have a minimum that you must pass before you get there. While you are there if you do what you are told you will pass, it's just a little work. You have all of basic to pass it, and if you're OSUT all of AIT as well. You have seven days after graduation to pass or you get an entry level seperation. Yes blanket parties do happen and for a reason. Just do what you are sapposed to and don't slack off and you have nothing to worry about.

Basic Training is just what the name implies, Basic. It's where you learn all the Basic skills you need to have to function in whatever service you chose to join. It's a lot of History, how to march, how to function as a unit, rifle qualification and etc. MOS training comes after. You get paid while you are in Basic but you wont see most of it until you graduate. There are buddy programs, but you'd have to ask a recruiter what is available for the service you want to enter. In the Marine Corps if you dont measure up to the basic physical qualifications they will keep you in Boot Camp until you do.

You also need to realise that depending on the service, Boot is different. For example Marines have two stations for recruits as the Navy and AF only have one. Army has several.
