What can you bring to Army bootcamp?
I was just wondering what you can and cannot bring to bootcamp with you. Like would I be allowed to bring a few pictures with me?

Re: What can you bring to Army bootcamp?
depends on the Branch you are entering. If you are going inot the Marines, I would suggest you bring nothing but some ID (SSN card and etc). Virtually anything else you bring is going to be boxed up and mailed home, including all the clothes you are wearing when you get there (yes that includes your underwear).

Re: What can you bring to Army bootcamp?
Actually, Top, these days they box it up and keep it somewhere at PI. You get it back on your last day (or day before that). They don't ship anything home, but your advice is nonetheless appropriate. They suggested bringing $10 or so for food incidentals in Louisville, KY (MEPS). [You get dinner, but you might want a coke later or a magazine or something.] Razors are provided and you have occasional access to the PX.

I believe the Nat. Gaurd guys are split up from the regular army guys though, but I could be mistaken.

What field will you be in? Usually at Ft Gordon (nearby) they send all of the troops home during Christmas. In the Corps they put us on Air Alert for Christmas. Remember that Vulture?

Re: What can you bring to Army bootcamp?
Brian, you'll have what's known as "Christmas Exodus". You'll be home for Christmas barring some emergency.
