Going to Basic
Hey everyone, I'm finally goin to Bootcamp for the Coast Guard. I leave Tuesday the 9th. I'm ready to go and pumped about it!!!!! I wanted to thank everyone here for all the help I've gotten from this place. It is a good forum and I will post again when I get back.

I just finished mine for USAFA on the 6th and let me tell ya, it was a lot harder than I had anticipated. Stick it through, and while you may have heard it before, Basic is not what the real Guard is like. Hang in there, Coastie!

My husband leaves for basic in seven days!!! I remember thinking back six months ago and we thought this day would never get here : ) He's pretty pumped up and is ready to go. A buddy of his decided to join the AF about a month after he did and he is already at Basic and is absolutely hating it right now! However, he has never had to do realy physical labor his whole life.

i made it out on sept30th. i was there from 09aug to 30sep. it wasnt to hard but not easy either. i graduated with the Highest Academic Average Award and was #2 for the Honor Graduate Ribbon. oh well. i made it out and am now stationed on the USCGC Morgenthau (WHEC-722) homeported in Alameda, CA. just between oakland and san francisco. it kicks ass here. i reported on 19oct. i love it, the crew is great and i love my job. I'm a Fireman Appentice, working in the engineering dept in auxiliary. good stuff. cant wait til we get underway again!
