gifts for someone going to bootcamp

I have a cousin that is leaving for army bootcamp at ft sill in a week and in a few days we are having a going away party for him, I would like to give him something that he can use in bootcamp. I was thinking about a dispolable camera but I don't know if they can take those with them.

not much you can provide a young future soldier except to pat him on the back, say keep your head srewed on stright and best of luck see you in 9 weeks. Buy him a graduation present....a digitial camera, but then again maybe not..since lost of military people have gotten in trouble using a digitial camera....Good luck to your cousin

thanks for the link, he is leaving next week and im leaving the week after so ill check it out myself, my going away party consists of me, a 6 pack, a pack of camels, the couch, and the redsox game on tv.

he is having a blow out party so i guess ill just give him the link and maybe a phone card..

how are people getting into trouble with digital cameras?

If you want to do something that you can both (possibly) laugh about 5 maybe 10 years later at family reunions and such ... well then just send him a big ol' box of cookies The proper number of cookies would be just 5 or 6 more than a single human could possibly ingest in a single sitting.

He'd definately remember that gift for the rest of his life

i actually gave that alot of thought, but i fear retaliation, he can easily send a letter to someone have have them send me some really nasty cookies in return, like i said i am going just a week or 2 after him. but then again it would still be funny and may be well worth the retaliation

Actually you take a piece of paper and write a letter, then go to Pizza Hut and get a large pizza. Eat pizza and place empty piece of paper in box overnight. Take piece of paper out of box and mail it.
