most dangerous branch and career in the military?

just wondering whats the most dangerous part of the armed forces. present day i know its probably not the navy or airforce, so army, marine corp, or special forces (rangers, seals, ect). im guessin its probably being a member of any one of the special forces. but could be wrong

The most dangerous job in the armed forces is whatever one is in contact with the enemy at any given time.. All branches have fields that are performing in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan (and other less public places). They are all doing a great job, and all have service members who are putting their lives on the line every day.

On a standard day to day work level, I'd prolly have to guess that working on an Air Craft Carrier's flight deck is about as dangerous a job as a body can have.

Amen Grimmy, I did two tours on the USS Forrestal with Marine F-4 outfits, worked the flight deck on both tours. Anyone who says those Navy people dont rate hazardous duty pay is out of their damn mind.

It's funny how alot of people don't think working on ships is that dangerous. Man I've heard some bad stories, I don't think I'd wanna work on an aircraft carrier.

You can't really choose which job is the most dangerous, every job is dangerous in its own way. Whether your a grunt, working on a flight deck, or working at a desk, shit could hit the fan. I read in the Marine Corps times awhile back about a parachute repairman that would have lost his eye because the sewing needle broke. It got stuck in the safety glasses he was wearing.

SSG Mike, considering thats an AF fighter (F-16), probably isnt taht much danger landing on the runway and heading back to your TV and room

I was aboard about 5 years after the fire the first tour, and no I didn't get t meet McCain. He was a POW at the time.
