can I take this?
I take vitamins that help joints. I am a big guy and like running but it hurts my knees if I dont take a daily vitamin. It is a store brand generic vitamin taken once a day. Will I have to leave my vitamin behind or can I take it with me?

Re: can I take this?
unfortunately, it will have to be left at home. The only meds I saw were prescriptions brought from home (with a waiver such as allergy meds and the like and that was 8 years ago) and transferred to then dispensed from the Army hospital pharmacy. There's a lot of liability in letting a trainee take a med that was brought from home...in this day and age, it could be anything, not to say that yours are more than vitamins. However, on the bright side, after BCT, most folks aren't quite so big....I know I wasn't. Good Luck

Re: can I take this?
Speaking from my experience at FLW...again 8 years ago...so it may have changed....we had a laundry service which took care of BDU's and PT uniforms, but then we also had a washer and dryer in the barracks, where during fireguard or "free time" we did things like underwear, socks, etc. I'm sure others will chime in if their experiences were different.

Re: can I take this?
Wow.
When I was in Boot Camp at MCRD San Diego in '79 we had access to a long concrete table with water spigots running down the middle upon which we scrubbed our uniforms and skivvies/socks and then lines strung up upon which to dry them. This was done on Sunday, each week. Sheets, fart sacks and such were turned in once a week (wednsday?) but the rest was a bar of soap, scrub brush and wash table. -Mac |

Re: can I take this?
Grimmy,
We still washed our clothes by hand on the concrete wash racks when I went through in '93. As far as I know they still do at MCRDSD. Good times. |

Re: can I take this?
I can't speak for all basic posts, but that was the case at FLW in 1998.....Hopefully, I'll have some personal knowledge of Benning's procedures here in the next couple of months......
