Us Army Questions
My husband is a U.S. Marine. :] My friend's boyfriend has enlisted in the Army, and I have some questions that need answers.
He leaves for basic Feb 13 and is scheduled to graduate April 10. Her senior prom is the 13... I read that they go straight to their school afterwards. Can they request leave if their school is not starting right away? If so, how does he go about doing that. Another question: She wants him to attend her graduation. How does he go about putting in a 96? And is he able to do that? I know if he's in school, he can't... I also know it depends on how long his school is. I know so much about the Marines, and I know there are some things that are different with each branch. Thanks in advance. Tiffany VPW of Anthony. U.S.M.C. |

Re: Us Army Questions
RR:
In the Corps, they have 72's and 96's. Those are officially unofficial days off granted for special occasions and/or holidays but not counted as leave time. They refer to the number of hours granted to liberty. 72 is a 3 day weekend and a 96 is a 4 day weekend. I believe it's true, normally, that the normal time off on weekends (or days off) are counted in the 72 and 96 and they are just extensions of 1 or 2 extra days to the weekend. -Mac |

Re: Us Army Questions
Most grunts can count to 11, but few can get past that and get on to 12.
