Excuse ME Proud 11B40 and 51H40 here Infantryman (11B) The infantry is the main land combat force and backbone of the Army. It's equally important in peacetime and in combat. The Infantryman's role is to be ready to defend our country in peacetime and to capture, destroy and repel enemy ground forces during combat. The following are some duties expected of Infantrymen:
Job training for Infantryman requires 13 weeks, three days of One Station Unit Training (OSUT) which includes Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training. The training will take place primarily in the field, with some classroom training. The reality is, though, that infantry training never really stops. Whether taking part in squad maneuvers, target practice or war games, Infantrymen are constantly working to keep their skills sharp and are in a constant state of preparedness. Helpful attributes include:
The job skills you learn as an Infantryman such as teamwork, discipline and leadership will help you with any career you choose. Closed to Women |

Hey, sorry about the "old" comment guys. I could have used aged but I didn't want to make you guys humble yourselfs too much. The reason I ask is becuase I'm volunteering for a combat unit. I want to go. And I know I'll never know what's it's like untill I'm in it, but a heads up could really help me.

Re: Combat Experience
In the comprehensive list of capacities, some are missing:
- Open a can with the ruddy multipurpose tool without loosing a finger - Pop blisters in the most unexpected parts of your anatomy - Eat anything that goes splush in your dish and yell that the duff is great to any idiot officer who asks you. Any contributions from other oldies? I must admit I never saw the elephant, luckily for me. Taraa |

Re: Combat Experience
81st Guy 16 .... as much as I like to see a good ass chewing let me help a littl. Go to the Army Forum. Look at pretty much all the topics in ALL forums. After that go to the Marine Forum and do the same. You may even be interested in some of the stuff under the Special Operations section as well.
You can also do a search, like....... "Bootcamp" and see how many hits you get. Read all the posts and if you get confused, post your question and reference it. |

Re: Combat Experience
Thank you rusty, I'll be sure to take your advice.
As for Covertness, what in the Holy Hell is your problem? I come to go guys hoping to learn a 'lil and you jump all over like a Commy burning a flag at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. I can tell you this much. My generation is this country's future, but I'm kinda saddened by our past. Hope you enjoy your chance for that ass chewing you've been hankering for. |
