locations ?
I am wondering where I would have a good chance at being stationed where there is Light Infantry. And Is Ft Hood available to infantry even though the 4th ID is moving from thier to Colorado? Thanks for the help

Re: locations ?
(Correct me if I'm wrong, Soldiers)... Yeah, if you go infantry you could end up at Hood, I believe the 1st Cav is still based there. I don't know that the Army distinguishes light infantry as a specific MOS aside from 11B... So you could very well end up in a mech infantry unit. I'd pick a recruiter's brain about it, or maybe some of the Soldiers on the board will be able to shed some light.

Re: locations ?
You could end up in one of almost 1000 places. Ft. Hood, Ft. Stewart, Ft. Bragg, Ft. Carson, Ft. Polk (pray that you don't end up there, I am told) Ft. Campbell, etc., etc., etc. But go like Chuter said and pick a recruiters brain.

Re: locations ?
A Grunt is a Grunt. No distinguishments between mech and light. If it ain't in your contract you could go anywhere as we can do anything. In otherwords, you might not even get assigned to an Infantry unit (though that is doubtful).

Re: locations ?
You dont really get to chose if your mech or light. Your best bet is to enlist with a choice of duty station. There are a lot of places that are almost all light. Just dont come to Polk. This place sucks.
