Well, here we go....
http://wwnytv.net/72k/full-story.asp?uid=13329&area=home+page
After months spent in one of the worst parts of Afghanistan, some of our Ft. Drum soldiers was devestated to find out that even tho they was in Kuwait, awaiting arrival home, it wasn't going to happen... My best friend online, another Army Mom whose son is stationed at Ft. Drum also, told me the news tonight. They are extending their tour until June, even tho they was waiting to come home. They woke them up last night and gave them the news. They was expected in at Ft. Drum earlier today, so many preparations was made, familes moved back, ect for the expected return. I feel so bad for all involved.., I can't imagine what I would be going through if that had happened to my son. Why did they wait until then to tell them?? Some of the men had already returned home and now have to turn around and go back. My friend also told me after talking to her son today, that they only have room for one battalion, not a whole company, which is returning. Any thoughts or something that I can tell her, she is in a bad way now... -Pam |

Call her on the phone if you cannot get to her and pray with her. Don't think of what to say, it will come. There is a reason for everything. As hard as it is to understand why right now, One day we might. Let God work through you and pray with her and give her strength. I will pray too.

Pam, you can tell your friend that there are lots of Americans praying for her son and her entire family. My prayer for her is that she will have the grace to
"adapt and overcome", just as her son will do. -Pat |

Sorry so late in replying...but she did talk to him and all is good...He was more than upset of course, at first, but knew his duty and all is good now. He is back in his mode I guess I have to say. And very much looking forward to coming home!!

Re: Well, here we go....
Yeah they do, another Mom I just met, flew out to Ft. Drum, and waited 36 hrs., before being informed they weren't coming home, and had to go back home only to have to put out the money again when the do actually get to come home. Good thing is, I seen that for anyone that did that, they are going to get their money back for their expenses. So that is good for them.
