Pi Dead Detergents for ACU's?

The only detergents the Army has published as being safe for ACU's - Cheer (regular formula), Woolite, and one other detergent. I can't find any of the three on post or at Wal-Mart.

Anyone know of any other detergents deemed "safe" for ACU's? I assume the marine combat uniforms have the same treatments and IR tabs; if so, what detergents can they use (since we should be able to use the same detergents)?

Thanks!

Re: Detergents for ACU's?

The point is to use a detergent without an optical brightener, in addition to Cheer, (liquid and powder) and Woolite, one can use Bold powder, Surf powder, and All Powder.

If using a store brand, you should use the "compare to ______ brand" as a guide and remember that some detergents do contain optical brighteners while not listing them.

Of course I'm not on your post or in your Wal-Mart, but I'd think you should be able to find one of the 6. As a side note, many of the "organic dirty-hippie type" laundry agents do not contain optical brighteners, though I'm yet to see any of them actually use it....

Re: Detergents for ACU's?

Have you checked your clothing & sales store? They typically of the full list of "safe" detergents. i'm personally a fan of the woolite dark (thats the 1 auth for acus).

Re: Detergents for ACU's?

At fort benning they told us to buy with all or woolite and both detergents make me itchy as hell, instead of being smart and asking the Drill Sargents for alternatives i just used them, it was an itchy 14 weeks
