SSI-FWTS Question
I have been asking around my unit and keep getting conflicting stories. I am trying to find out if an SSI-FWTS "Combat Patch" is awarded for a deployment to Kuwait. I recently asked because we are heading over there soon and was wondering if I would finally get a patch for a deployment. I have looked through AR 670-1 and the reg is very vague. I know we are deploying in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and in the CENTCOM AOR but no one seems to know if we get one or not. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Are you serious???? You need to think less about getting a stupid patch and more about training and surviving. Not to be harsh on you at all, but all that stuff will come later. I am authorized 4 different patches from my days way back, and I could give 2 cents about wearing them. It just isn't important.

the answer to your question is yes. And you will also recieve the same HDP as the soldiers currently engaged in room to room combat in Sadr City as we speak, which defies explanation IMO
