Ltc
Howdy, all-
I was informed recently that I was one of a couple of cadets that would be good candidates for LTC this summer. Even though it is not a required activity, it looks to me like it could assist me in becoming a better soldier. However, I am not sure if I am up to the task or not. If anyone here has gone through LTC, please reply, as I am interested in this aspect of the program, but still nervous about it. Thanks, C/Cpl. Black |

Re: Ltc
i thought LTC was just for those students wanting join ROTC in the beginning of their junior year of school and had not done ROTC in their first two years. is it not?

Re: Ltc
We've had a couple of people go through it here. Actually both of the people in my class who went came back and placed in the top 3rd or top half of our class compared to those who had two extra years. It might increase your ability to deal with cadet BS too, as I have at least one story that sucks bad about LTC.

Re: Ltc
Fill me in- the idea of DI's shouting at me during summer vacation does not sound appetizing, though the training Ill get is enticing.

Re: Ltc
Well the bad story is from Land Nav. As I'm sure you're aware, like 90% of the guys who go through LTC don't have a clue what they're doing at all, with Land Nav being one of the tougher tasks. Well, they basically give a course on map reading (this is a map) and how to use a compass (it always points north) and let them run around on the course in buddy teams. Well, at night, aparently one of the points was next to like a 15-20 ft well (RIGHT next to it). As you can see, someone didn't see the well and fell down and broke his back. So my buddy, after hearing this, had his buddy hold his LCE the rest of the land nav course and vice versa.
Other than that, what I hear is there's a lot of time spent with 2LT's and not so much with DIs/SGTs. E.S. |
