Class B's

All,
Is the summer issue class b dress shirt authorized for warm weather days during the winter? Would this fall under a unit's HOTSOP or is it service wide?
Thanks,
C/Cpl. Black

Re: Class B's

So I thought about this for a while.

We don't wear the Class B uniform. Ever.

Our cadre do wear the short sleeved green shirt pretty much all the time... and it gets cold here.

With my limited experience, IF we were to wear the class B uniform regularly, we would have set an SOP as a BN (through the c/CSM) and I would almost put money on it that we would wear long sleeves when we're in the colder months. I don't think AR 670-1 has any specifics on the wear of the uniform, but I'd start there before I got too far into making any decisions or asking more questions.

Pi Star Re: Class B's

That's kind of strange. I'm in my school's Army JROTC program, and it is manditory for cadets to wear their class B's every Thursday, no exceptions. Although, some of the higher ranking senior cadets wear class A's. Our class B's are short-sleeved, which is a bit uncomfortable in the winter due to the frigid temperature of where the JROTC classrooms are located. But I'd much rather prefer wearing class A's, they just look so much nicer-- and besides, they're warm.

Our battalion recently was promoted to Honor Unit, which is a great achievement for us seeing how in the past our battalion has never been this organized or had such a high moral. Therefore I've come to my own conclusion that the battalion should be rewarded by getting class A's for all of the cadets. Heh, I doubt that will happen though. But there's always hope!

Re: Class B's

Not so fast there high speed. We're talking about Senior ROTC, not JROTC. The thread didn't specify, but crewcut is listed as being from Univ. of Northern Colorado. Congrats on your unit recieving the award.
