The Army scrapped a 60 billion dollar helicopter that can now be given to "Other Countries" that may have an interest. I do know that the AF is ahead of schedule on its new Rescue Bird. I think its called the SU-100. It's pretty much a C/MH-53 on roids. |

Being a 58 Driver myself the info we have recieved on a new airframe is that the Army is leaning towards the OH-6 platform (Hughes 500) But then again the Kiowa has been an interm Aircraft since the 80s so I see it being around for a few more years. AIR CAV

Also right now most units are in the process of upgrading the Kiowas with new avianics and software
