Re: What does the Army fly?
Hey The Army is in a transition right now and what most aviation units are going to be is a mix off all the A/C in the inventory IE Each unit will have scout, attack, lift/assualt, and heavy lift. As for 1st CAV they are mainly Apache/Kiowa and Hawks.

Re: What does the Army fly?
Well as for the Kiowas I can tell you this, Its a blast to fly (if you can't tell thats what I fly) small fast (for its size) no it is not as fast as a blackhawk or apache but it has the speed it needs to get the job done. The fun part about being a scout is we work directly with a ground commander 90% of the time being his eyes in the sky. Sneaking and peeping is the name of our game. AIR CAV

Re: What does the Army fly?
All -58D are leaving the heavy divisions now. That mean the only overseas assignment for a -58D pilot is Hawaii. Pretty sweet huh?
