11B wants to go to jump school

Hey, I'm an 11B, however, my unit is not airborne, so it's hard for me to get slotted, esspecially since I'm national guard, and my state's spending is a little low this time of year. Does anyone know my options for getting a slot for airborne school, or do I just make peace w/ the fact that it probably wont happen.

ps.-I haven't talked to my unit because their deployed. (FYI)

Your best bet is to request the school through your unit. Even if you're not in an airborne unit, the school is not terribly difficult to get into in the Army. They will likely tell you no for a while, but if you're persistant and are a top performer they will be more likely to entertain the idea. If nothing else, it should be easy for you to get it as a reenlistment bonus, although I'm guessing it's a little early in your career to be talking about that.
