Thats cool that your father was one of the founding members.
By the way, we still only get to use light aircraft like cessnas and stuff. But when cadets go to encampments sometimes they have the oppertunity to take orientation flights in military aircraft.

Yeah i actually got to fly a C-17 Globemaster III around Mt. Rainer. And a buddy of mine flew in a C-130 and UH-60 Blackhawk.

When my Father was in the CAP, he often flew Military Aircraft that were asigned to the Air NG.

Yeah, in WWII CAP got to fly coastal patrols and drop bombs on enemy ships. CAP sunk two subs and scared away hundreds more.

now CAP is once again doing homeland security, funny how history repeats itself.

I was in CAP for about 10 years and the only time I would have dealt with Dead Towelheads would be if their Cessna went down in Chicago... But I have landed in the Army and am now discharged (medically) from there....anyone need a tanker?

Crazy Bay and I are also both in the Army, i didn't plan on killing anyone in CAP!

I enlisted as a 45B (small arms repair) with the 19th SF group (ABN) and Bay enlisted as a 11B Hopefully with the 82nd. We are both still in school so we don't have a duty station as of yet. We just can't wait to jump out of perfectly good airplanes and blow shit up!
