The Christian Bear
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A minister is hiking through the woods one Sunday after delivering his sermon. As he is walking along, he spots a hungry bear. Unfortunately for the minister, the bear spots him, and begins to chase him through the forest. At first, it appears that the minister might make it, but the chase wears on, and the bear begins to gain on the minister. Finally, the minister trips on a rock, and knowing he had no other chance, begins to pray. "Lord," says the man, "I'll never ask you for anything, ever again, but please, hear my prayer. Dear God, make this bear a Christian." The minister turns around and, to his surprise and joy, the bear stops in his tracks. His paws together and his head bowed in prayer, the bear says, "Lord, thank you for this food I am about to eat!" |
