On Veterans Day, We Remember...

You don't have to look very hard for reasons to honor our Veterans.
They are the folks who are just a little more selfless than the rest of
the population.
Superlative adjectives such as braver and more patriotic
also come to mind.
These are people without whom we could be oppressed
by another nation or live in a tyrannical dictatorship.
These are the men and women for whom the taste of Freedom is the
sweetest and they don't mind fighting for yours!

This morning I looked at the facebook page of Cody Norris, a proud young
soldier. His "about me" paragraph states "I am in the army and I am an infantry man! I love what I do as my job and my dream in life and no one can take that way from me. I am trained by the best and I will be the best as I can. Wanna do all I can for the ones I love and my country. Too keep all of us free!!! Even if it means death. So that ever AMERICAN can live there dreams out too."

Like all service members Cody wrote out that blank check to the USA.
That check was cashed for the full amount in Kandahar 2 days ago!
.................................................. ...........................................
The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. Pfc. Cody R. Norris, 20, of Houston, Texas, died Nov. 9 in Kandahar province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with small arms fire. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 34th Armor Regiment, 1st Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kan.
For more information the media may contact the Fort Riley public affairs office at 785-307-0641 or 785-375-1308.

Rest In Peace Cody. Thank you for your sacrifice.

Thanks to all who wear the uniform, have ever put it on and all who will wear it. God bless you.

-Pat
